Sexual Double Standards for Men? Player, Virgin, Creep, Objectifier (also: Male Nudity and Male Homosexuality)

We treat male and female sexuality differently. The most well-known example of that is the slut double standard for women (casual sex is seen as degrading and disgraceful for them to an extent that it isn’t for men), but we also have some important sexual double standards for men. The first and second (player and virgin) involve having or not having sex, while the third and fourth (creep and objectifier) are about expressing sexual desire. The fifth (“male nudity is funny, not sexy”) is a difference in how we tend to see men’s and women’s bodies. The sixth is “male homosexuality is uniquely offensive”.

Lynching Fiction: The Death of the Willie Lynch Speech

If Willie Lynch is truly dead, I can only blame the academic lynching of this satirical missive on a lack of imagination.

In his book, Death of The Willie Lynch Speech: Exposing the Myth, Manu Ampim outlines a number of critical questions (with answer) to test the authority of the infamous “1712” text. According to Ampim, the Willie Lynch document’s most glaring weaknesses are its obvious anachronisms and that the letter appears to stand alone in history with no contemporary or later source to mention it until an email exchange in 1993 followed by Farrakhan’s famous recitation of its first lines in 1995 while presiding over the Million Man March.
